Beautiful, kind-hearted Belle agrees to live at a mysterious palace with a fearsome beast in place of her father. And there, she and the Beast exist companionably, until he asks her to marry him. Returning to her father for advice, she is waylaid and tricked by her two jealous sisters. But Belle is resolved to follow her heart, and return to the Beast.
