Sir David Attenborough revisits his award-winning shows, shares anecdotes from an astonishing career spanning 60 years, returns to the Borneo jungle as he tracks a lifetime of developments in filming technology and scientific discovery, and explores the ever-growing plight of the natural environment. In this unique and important series, Sir David delivers his testimony in a trio of spectacular films, focusing on the three areas which have transformed most profoundly over his career. He charts the development of natural history programme-making from the early TV cameras used for Zoo Quest in 1956 to the latest high definition and micro-camera technology. He considers the rapid advances in science from discoveries about the structure of DNA to a better understanding of continental drift and he lays bare the potentially devastating environmental consequences of the planets rapid economic and population growth. |
